Been back from Reading for 2 days, finally caught up on sleep so I will do my review post.
On the whole, it was freaking awesome. Probably my favourite of the last 3 Reading/Leeds fests I’ve done. Again like last year I didn’t see too many bands but there weren’t many I desperately wanted to see.
Crystal Castles - I really enjoyed the music but the lead singer was absolutely shocking and a skanky little bitch.
Lucy Rose - Quite the opposite, what a little cutie! So sweet, and so good live, and the crowd loved her and she genuinely seemed so amazed they were there to see her, was so cute.
Green Day - ‘Secret set’ everyone knew they were gonna be playing but we didn’t know when or where. About 10.55 we heard the beginning of Welcome To Paradise from our campsite so we all legged it to the NME tent, missed the first 3 songs, but fuck me were they good. Band of the weekend by sure and I’m so glad I went to go see them. Billie-Joe is such an amazing front man. The performance was definitely up there with my favourite festival performances.
Jaguar Skills - This was all kinds of awesome. Throughout the day we’d got pissed at the campsite, then a group of 6 of us went to see him, then we randomly bumped into literally everyone else from our crew who were all pissed as well and we all just went mental. It was brilliant and so cool that all the crew were there.
Other bands I only saw a couple of songs by Flo, Black Keys, Foo Fighters. Not really worth writing bout cause I didn’t see that much.
The Thursday night, only me, Tom, Luke and Lesley went down to set up, then a couple of Tom’s mates joined us, so we got hammered on the Thurs night which we’ve never been able to do before and about 1 in the morning went to the ActionAid tent as it turns into Propaganda tent on the nights, and that was awesome, if not disgusting with all the sweat dripping.
DJing was amazing. Probably up there rivalling the first Reading I did, if not on par. Our capacity got raised to 4100, and apparently so I was told on the Friday we had 7-8000 people in over the night then Saturday and Sunday we hit 10,000. So I played to over 27,000 people this weekend. How insane is that?!
The Saturday night was the best, I think cause the day had been so amazing too and I was quite drunk when DJing, but the crowd were so up for it on Saturday and not to blow my own trumpet but I was on fucking fire. That was probably the most enjoyable set I’ve done.
The Sunday was a bit annoying, first of all cause I was tired but secondly cause they wanted us to play ‘shit music’ (organisers words) for the last hour to calm them down and to stop them leaving altogether at the end of the night, which is a hell of a lot harder than it sounds. When you’ve got around 4000 people in a tent, at least 10% of them will like the song, and with 2 DJs, thats still 20% of the crowd being rowdy.
So overall, amazing weekend.
I’ve given in and entered NME’s annual photography competition again.
It’d be a big help if you could click these five links to my entries / rate them as 10 stars (no registration or anything needed - it’s literally just one mouse click per link) / maybe rate them again / maybe reblog?

I have too many negative people/attitudes around at the moment and it’s pissing me off a tad, I won’t lie. EVERYONE NEEDS TO LIGHTEN THE FUCK UP.
Ha, quite an ironic post, no?
